Given the opportunity to pickup dried lumber from Shertz, Texas recently I jumped at the chance. I love beautiful slab furniture and thought this would fun.
I was lucky enough to meet a proffesional tree cutter Frank who cut my logs down to managable slabs. He worked so hard making it possible for me to make awesome tops.
My first slab table looks great. I'm working on center pieces, stools and accent tables. It's hard work but soo worth it.
A little bit about myself. I worked for most of my life in print advertising sales, small newspapers and the world has changed and my career is nonexistent. I’ve reinventing myself regularly attempting to find out what I want to be when I grow up. I have decided on furniture stripper/artist/entrepreneur. I love real wood and had the pleasure of working in a raw furniture store. There I realized many want to finish their own furniture but don't have the time, space or ambition. I am here to help with varying parts of the journey.
